🔍 What's Peppol?

Peppol (Pan-European Public Procurement On-Line) est un réseau sécurisé d’échange de documents électroniques, standardisé à l’échelle européenne.

In particular, it allows you to send and receive :

• Structured electronic invoices
• Purchase orders
• Acknowledgements of receipt or dispatch notices

Ce réseau garantit une interopérabilité entre systèmes, une traçabilité optimale et une réduction des erreurs manuelles.

Changes as of January 1, 2026

Belgium has decided to gradually impose the use of Peppol on all Belgian VAT-registered companies for their invoices. B2B transactions.

📤 From 2026, it will no longer be possible to send a simple PDF invoice by e-mail to your business customers :
All your invoices must go through Peppolin a structured electronic format (XML UBL).

👥 Who is concerned?

✔️ Toutes les entreprises belges assujetties à la TVA
✔️ Self-employed, SMEs, large companies
✔️ Foreign companies with a permanent establishment in Belgium

❌ Not concerned:

• Les entreprises sous régime forfaitaire
• Les activités exonérées de TVA (art. 44)
• Les factures B2C (consommateurs finaux)
